You
do not have to have any martial arts experience to apply to become a Martial Arts
After School Instructor. Nor do you have to be enrolled in a martial arts school
or have to attend the Allied Gardens School of
Martial Arts in order to apply. However, obviously in order to be able to
instruct kids in a program that teaches martial arts similar to what
we teach you must at some point learn martial arts. It is necessary for individuals
who wish to teach to have achieved a certain level of skill where they are comfortable
executing the movements and have an advanced understanding of not only memorized
forms and movements, but what the benefit of practicing these movements provides.
Therefore, we require that you must first have reached a belt level of 4th Section
(the fourth test from white belt, or about half way to Black Belt) or have earned
an equivalent belt level in another style of martial arts that is similar to what
we teach. You may of course attend the Allied Gardens School of Martial Arts
(where Martial Arts After School obtained its curriculum from) to reach 4th section
AND have already learned the required curriculum to begin teaching. But a student
from styles similar to what we teach that has earned a belt about half way to
black black should be able to learn the required curriculum fairly quickly and
proficiently.
MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL OWNERS AND OR INSTRUCTORS!
This is an excellent opportunity for martial arts school owners
or instructors that teach martial arts for a living as many
of these lessons are during your "off hours" when
you school is closed! It ALSO will promote MAAS's non-profit
mission (which is more than likely similar to your own), to
provide a quality martial arts program to kids after school
at a low cost so children can see the many benefits martial
arts training can offer. In addition, YOUR particular style
of martial arts may be taught at the schools in YOUR AREA
(if it meets the safety guidelines established in the school
district as well as MAAS's safety guidelines) not just the
main curriculum provided by MAAS! Imagine all the kids in
your area obtaining the many benefits YOUR style can offer
them!
If you have previous or current martial arts experience then
you can attend the following training seminars to prepare
you for teaching as a Martial Arts After School Instructor:
You can get started right away. Only a few short lessons
to learn the simple procedures and guidelines and you are
off and running!

main office. Lesson days & times to be announced 1-month
prior to start of each 6-week session.
- Observe/ participate in a classroom to classroom presentation
and a lunchtime/recess presentation.
