You
do not have to have any martial arts experience to apply to become a Martial Arts
After School Instructor. Nor do you have to be enrolled in a martial arts school
or have to attend the Allied Gardens School of Martial Arts in order to apply.
However, obviously in order to be able to instruct kids in a program that teaches
martial arts similar to what
we teach you must at some point learn martial arts. It is necessary for individuals
who wish to teach to have achieved a certain level of skill where they are comfortable
executing the movements and have an advanced understanding of not only memorized
forms and movements, but what the benefit of practicing these movements provides.
Therefore, we require that you must first have reached a belt level of 4th Section
(the fourth test from white belt, or about half way to Black Belt) or have earned
an equivalent belt level in another style of martial arts that is similar to what
we teach. You may of course attend the Allied Gardens School of Martial Arts
(where Martial Arts After School obtained its curriculum from) to reach 4th section
AND have already learned the required curriculum to begin teaching. But a student
from styles similar to what we teach that has earned a belt about half way to
black black should be able to learn the required curriculum fairly quickly and
proficiently. If you have previous or current martial arts experience
and have achieved a 4th section belt level (or equivalent)l, then you can attend
the following training seminars to prepare you for teaching as a Martial Arts
